RR vs PBKS IPL 2023: Match Preview and Probable Playing XIs, Can Jos Buttler make a winning streak?

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are gearing up to take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) in their second match of the Indian Premier League 2023 season on April 5th at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The Royals are high on confidence following their impressive win against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match. Punjab Kings, led by Shikhar Dhawan, also registered a victory in their first match against Kolkata Knight Riders by seven runs (DLS method).

PBKS put up a strong performance in their opener, despite missing Liam Livingstone and Kagiso Rabada. Bhanuka Rajapaksa played an impressive knock of 50 runs off 32 deliveries while Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh gave the team a flying start. PBKS posted a total of 191 runs in 20 overs, with young bowler Arshdeep Singh taking four wickets and Rahul Chahar and Sikandar Raza making significant contributions with the ball.

On the other hand, Rajasthan Royals' top order is in excellent form with Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal providing a perfect start in the last match. Sanju Samson also scored a half-century as they posted an impressive 203 runs on board. Yuzvendra Chahal, who is eager to make his return to the national team, impressed with a four-wicket haul in the last match. Trent Boult and KM Asif also proved to be valuable contributors.

The pitch at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium is expected to favour the batters, making for a high-scoring encounter. The team batting first will have an advantage due to the possibility of dew playing a role later in the match. Anything above 200 will be a challenging total.

Both teams have a strong line-up, with Rajasthan Royals likely to field Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Jason Holder, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, KM Asif, and Yuzvendra Chahal. Meanwhile, Punjab Kings are likely to feature Shikhar Dhawan, Prabhsimran Singh, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jitesh Sharma, Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, Sam Curran, Harpreet Brar, Rahul Chahar, Kagiso Rabada, and Arshdeep Singh.



Jos Buttler is expected to be the probable best batter, while Sam Curran could be the probable best bowler, as his variations could work wonders against Rajasthan. The match is set to be telecast on Star Sports Network and JioCinema. The encounter is sure to be an exciting one, with both teams aiming to maintain their winning streaks.
