Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) swashbuckling batter Rinku Singh, who smashed a quickfire 37 runs off 19 balls, said he believed in himself that he could do it during the match against Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2023.
Rinku came into bat at number six when the KKR required 54 runs from 29 balls. He started hitting big shots from the very first ball he faced and soon turned the match in KKR's favor. His knock included two fours and three sixes as he smashed 24 runs in the 18th over bowled by GT's Ankit Soni.
"I had the belief that I could do it. When I was going inside the ground, I was just thinking that I need to be there and see the ball well. I got the first ball, and I was just looking to hit, and I hit the first ball, and I got confidence from there, and I was just playing my shots," said Rinku Singh after the match.
The left-handed batsman also praised the team's bowlers for their exceptional performance and said that the team was motivated to win the match.
The win against Gujarat Titans marked KKR's second win in the tournament, and they are currently placed at the top of the points table.
